  • Dr. John J. Ballas is a native of Charlotte. After attaining his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he gained extensive medical accreditations in the field of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis in 1998.

    In 1999, he returned to serve a region he enjoys calling home. Dr. Ballas and his wife, Donna, like spending their free time traveling, hiking, biking and keeping a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly. They are both very active in their church and the community, regularly working to assist local charities and philanthropic organizations.

    Tyler D. Slabaugh

  • Dr. Tyler D. Slabaugh graduated in 2002 from Ledford High School in Wallburg, North Carolina as a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to attend Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, where he was a 3-Year Letterman in football, graduating on the Dean’s List in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. In 2009, Dr. Slabaugh earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree on the Dean’s List, from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida Campus.

    Dr. Slabaugh, son of Pittsburgh-area natives, is an avid Steelers fan and enjoys spending his free-time being active outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes include running, biking and being at the lake.

    Jessica Richardson Slabaugh

  • Dr. Jessica (Richardson) Slabaugh was introduced to chiropractic care when she was a child. She was a competitive gymnast and at age 12 had a serious injury to her lower back. She was told she needed surgery, but her mother opted to try a more holistic approach first. Through chiropractic care alone, her body was able to heal on its own and she was able to compete in gymnastics for many more years, pain free. This incident sparked a passion for chiropractic and she decided at a young age to pursue her career. She was able to go back to Michigan and do her internship with the actual doctor that first sparked her passion for chiropractic.

    Dr. Jessica graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. She attended Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida campus where she graduated Cum Laude in 2009.
    She is well versed in techniques such as: Diversifed, Thompson, Cox Flexion Distraction, Mechanical Impulse, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), and Graston. She enjoys working with pregnancy and pediatrics.

    She also provides blood chemistry analysis and nutritional consulting using high quality supplements, including Standard Process and Xymogen. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 pets, especially outdoors or on the lake. She likes to travel and cook, and stays active by biking, practicing yoga or participating in Pure Barre.

    Charles E. Suber

    Doctor of Chiropractic

    A native of south Georgia, Dr. Suber first came to North Carolina for his undergraduate work at Catawba College. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Suber brings 17 years of chiropractic experience to Ballas. He opened his own practice in Morganton, NC in 2002 and grew it for ten years. A former resident of the Lake Norman area, Dr. Suber returned in 2012 and joined a practice in Statesville. Since the beginning of his practice, he has had a passion for longevity science, anti-aging protocols, as well as caring for chronic inflammatory conditions.

    He lives in Cornelius with his wife and two children. Dr. Suber enjoys playing tennis, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with his family.
